Free guided Democratic Access Tours of Parliament are available to all constituents, subject to availability. Alternatively, a member of my team is able to give a tour of up to six constituents.
The walking tour of the Palace of Westminster includes -
- Westminster Hall, the ancient hall at the heart of the Palace where Parliament first sat and where many historic events have taken place
- The House of Commons, including the Speaker's Chair and the famous green benches and the 'lobbies' where MPs actually vote
- The House of Lords, including the Royal Throne
- The Queen's Robing Room, Royal Gallery and many other fascinating parts of the Palace of Westminster
The Visitor Route is usually open during the following sitting times if either House is not in recess:
- Monday: 9am – 12.30pm
- Tuesday: 9am – Commons closed at 10.15am/Lords closed at 12.30pm
- Wednesday: 9am – Commons closed at 10.15am/Lords closed at 12.30pm
- Thursday: Closed
- Sitting Fridays: Not open while House is sitting, but may open after conclusion of business
- Non-Sitting Fridays: Approx. 9am-6pm, but hours may vary
