In recent months, I have received feedback from constituents and met with residents who have been affected by the conduct and services of FirstPort. This is why I joined my colleagues in inviting the Managing Director of FirstPort to meet with MPs this week to address the issues and frustrations experienced by many across the country.
Following pressure from colleagues across the House, I am pleased to report that FirstPort has committed to providing MPs with detailed information about the developments they manage in our constituencies, as well as local emergency contacts. Additionally, FirstPort will follow up with me directly regarding the concerns raised by my constituents.
FirstPort will participate in a follow-up meeting with Conservative MPs later this year to ensure they are held accountable for these commitments.
I will continue to advocate for improved service and accountability for all residents affected by these issues.
