It was great to visit Whilton Locks in Long Buckby recently to meet with representatives of the Canal and River Trust. I was amazed to see the lock gate replacement programme that started on the 13th January in full action where it’s expected to be completed in some eight weeks time.
The meeting included discussions on forthcoming improvements at Welford Reservoir, the ongoing restoration of Bridge 91A in Braunston and the work with Affinity Water investigating the use of the Grand Union Canal for water transfer.
