In anticipation of Small Business Saturday on 7th December, I made my first stop at The Pop Up Place in Long Buckby as I set out to explore our constituency's vibrant array of independent businesses over the coming weeks.
It was lovely to meet with Manager Abi, who makes a lovely hot chocolate, while we discussed the vital role small businesses play in villages and towns like Long Buckby.
For the past two years, The Pop Up Place has been a huge success. As the new MP, it was great to learn that what started as a pandemic-inspired initiative to support local businesses has grown into a vibrant community hub. The venue now offers everything from fresh coffee and homemade cakes to international cuisine, cocktails, and live entertainment, bringing together local talent and creating a thriving social space for all ages in the community.
I am looking forward to the upcoming rebrand of The Pop Up Place when it reopens in the week of 18th November.
If you haven't visited yet, I do thoroughly recommend popping in – the warm welcome and excellent service make this a real gem in our community.
